We're Hiring a New Workforce Development Specialist for Our Growing Team!

The Workforce Specialist is responsible for conducting an in-depth assessment of our client’s employment needs, developing a comprehensive, individualized service plan to address needs, and helping clients obtain and retain full-time, unsubsidized employment. You will provide ongoing professional development training, career counseling, and coaching to clients during their employment search. This role requires top-notch time management skills, interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail. This role may be hybrid (both onsite and remote) and you will be expected to travel from various company locations.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide ongoing employment and career counseling to urban Native American job searchers

  • Assist clients to identify and apply to employment opportunities (includes resume, cover letter, and job application assistance)

  • Identify clients for whom work experience, classroom training, or on-the-job training would be appropriate and guide successful completion of the activity

  • Maintain active communication with clients to ensure activities occur within time limits and in accordance with program and funding source requirements

  • Process and maintain program paperwork in accordance with agency program deadlines and prepare and submit monthly reports

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • 1-3 years related work experience in workforce development or related areas

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Urban American Indian community to provide culturally relevant and respectful services

  • Previous case management experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • Job placement skills and knowledge of workforce trends

  • Excellent client service and problem resolution skills

  • Experience and knowledge of DOL, WIOA, EDD, and DPSS regulations

  • Able to work independently and as a team member who consistently demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, efficiency, excellent internal and external client service, high ethical standards and behavior.

More Details:

  • Salary: $48,000 - $60,000 (DOQ)

  • Time expectations: Full-time (40 hours per week)

  • Job Location: Los Angeles, CA (Downtown LA), but must be willing to work remotely and/or travel to any UAII Workforce Location (Los Angeles, CA, Santa Ana, CA, Cerritos, CA)

  • UAII Indian Preference Policy: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position and who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position.
