UAII Workforce Scholars Program

The UAII Workforce Development Department is excited to introduce the UAII Workforce Scholars Program. This is a brand-new, custom training program for recent Native American high school graduates.


Ideal candidates for this program are students who may be unsure of their career trajectory but are interested in learning more about higher education and gaining exposure to potential career pathways. During this year-long program, UAII Workforce Scholars will receive career counseling, career exploration opportunities, and professional development, all while taking introductory college courses at UCLA Extension for free!

The UAII Workforce Scholars Program is free and open to 2020 and 2021 high school graduates. The UAII Workforce Scholars Program will begin in Fall 2021 (September) and end in Summer of 2022.


Students selected to participate in the UAII Workforce Scholars Program will receive:

  • Free college and career counseling

  • Professional development opportunities 

  • Online college courses provided by UCLA Extension*

  • Paid textbooks and school supplies

  • Transportation assistance

  • Participation Stipend to spend how you want! (Virtual gift card)


The college courses provided through this program will be provided entirely online during the evening hours. Workforce Scholars will be expected to complete some in-person components at the UCLA Campus in Los Angeles. Interested participants will need to enroll in the UAII Workforce Development Program.
